When two of Spain’s finest products, Marcona almonds and orange blossom honey, are combined, delicious results follow. When we tasted these delicious tortitas from the venerable producer ‘1880,’ we instinctively reached for another. There’s no sweet as satisfying as this crunchy almond brittle!
The crunchy tortitas, or ‘little cakes,’ are made with premium local ingredients by ‘1880,’ one of the oldest and best producers of sweets in all of Spain. Sticking with tradition, '1880' still makes sweets by hand in Alicante, the center of turrón production for ages.
Using an artisanal process, confectioners blend whole roasted Marcona almonds with orange blossom honey and egg white, to bind the ingredients together into one satisfyingly crunchy bar.
The little rounds make for an addictive introduction to Spanish sweets, or a tasty reminder of sweet snacks while wandering the streets of Madrid.
They are packaged individually to keep them as fresh as possible. This also means you can slip one into your pocket for an afternoon pick-me-up, or save a box for a housewarming gift!
