Galicia is famous for its pulpo, or Galician octopus. It is served hot, sprinkled with a touch of smoked paprika. One of our favorite tapas in Galicia, the pulpo is tender and delicious, and perfect with a crisp white wine.

The seas off the coast of Galicia in Northwest Spain are cool and rich in nutrients, making them an incredible fishing ground. Conservas de Cambados is located close to one of Spain’s largest Rías (estuaries), known as the 'Ría de Arousa'. Their facilities are very close to where the seafood is harvested, so they are able to use the freshest octopus and shellfish available.

"Good for canned product, not as good as fresh, of course. Nice to keep on hand for impromptu tapas or hors d'oeuvres."

"Outstanding! Gently fried/poached in the oil from the can with some smoked paprika and oregano added at the end."

"tender, delicate and very flavorful with a very nice olive oil and a gentle touch of salt, these were lovely straight from the can, "as is." I ordered a second can for a paella, but I really don't know if they're going to make it!"
