If you’ve swooned over patatas bravas at a tapas bar in Madrid, then you’ve savored this very sauce. Our Salsa Brava, from the venerable producer La Chinata, is a bold sauce certain to help you recreate the classic potato dish. It’s the most authentic version we’ve ever tried!

Salsa Brava is a blend of extra virgin olive oil, garlic, spices and salt, with a hint of lemon juice. It’s a flavorful addition in the classic dish, patatas bravas, but is also versatile in the kitchen. It makes a gorgeous marinade for flank steak, or a tongue-tickling addition to salad dressings. We like to serve it with grilled fish or scallops, along with grilled bread.

La Chinata was started in 1932, by a family dedicated to producing great extra virgin olive. Their culinary prowess quickly spread, and part of the family started to make more gourmet products. One delicious result is their Salsa Brava, sometimes called the “Mediterranean hot sauce,” although its spice is mild compared to Mexican salsa.

This version is truly the most authentic jarred version of Salsa Brava we’ve tried yet!
