These delicious little cheesecake pastries are made by hand by a small family bakery in the ancient city of Teruel. Aged sheep's milk cheese from Albarracín is mixed with fresh eggs, ground almonds and flour and baked in the ovens of Horno Sanz. The result is a rich, creamy confection unlike any other. This all natural pastry is light on sugar so the mild aged cheese flavor shines through.
For over 50 years, Horno Sanz has been offering traditional pastries and rustic breads, baked in its ovens in Teruel. The Sanz family still runs this small company, and is focused on preserving the unique products of their part of Aragon, and in using pure, natural ingredients.
Immediately after they are baked, the Sueños de Teruel pastries are frozen to preserve freshness. When you receive them, allow them to thaw and enjoy with coffee or as a dessert with a glass of Spanish wine.
