Marcona almonds, with groves around the Mediterranean coasts of Spain, have been called the queen of all almonds. They have a high concentration of beneficial oils that make for a very flavorful and healthful almond, unlike any other. These flat semi-round almonds have similar consistency to Macadamia nuts.
Artisan Esther Tusal lightly sauteés fresh Marcona almonds in a pan with extra virgin olive oil. She then tops the nuts with a translucent sugar glaze to keep them sweet, fresh and tasty. These lightly sweet almonds have a wonderful roasted flavor - a favorite of the La Tienda crew!
